Other than perhaps the sanctuary, the home is more intimately and profoundly tethered to its inhabitants than any other edifice. Through momentary acts of design they indelibly influence it, and, through daily occupation, it continually influences them . Given this view we see that a home is much more than a layout of material and earth. The truest beauty of architecture lies in the collaboration of the physical and the metaphysical, element and human spirit. There is little wonder, then, why sacred ceremonies demarcating the creation of a home transcend time, creed, region, and demographic.
